We’re bringing you an exclusive opportunity from O2 together with SBTV to break into the music and film industries!

SBTV is one of the leading online youth broadcasters which provides a platform to discover up and coming artists, as well as underground talent. They’re a youth media brand specialising in producing youth led content and programming.

This opportunity is aimed at 18-25 year olds who are enthusiastic and looking for a chance to shine, so could this be the start of something big for you? This opportunity will provide you with hands on experience in producing a short form film about music. You will work across the different areas of film production, gaining invaluable experience and helping to create a commercial film.

Who are SBTV?

SBTV are a progressive brand focused on listening and creating with young voices, founded by Jamal Edwards when he was 15. Youth voice is a the core of their DNA. They respect and understand the value of young minds and voices making this a truly collaborative experience for you.

Who should apply?

If you are passionate about music, have a strong interest in film, writing, organising, managing or acting and are creative then this is the opportunity for you! You don’t need to be a professional filmmaker. We’re looking for passionate people starting out in their careers who will make the most of the opportunity to gain skills and experience.

What will I be doing?

As part of the Post-Production team, you will work with the SBTV crew to finish the final product by:

  • Editing.
  • Sound mixing.
  • Delivering the final film, a trailer and social cuts.

A few of the skills you’ll need and can develop through this include:

  • Organisation and prioritising
  • Project management and working under pressure
  • Creativity and problem solving
  • Assertiveness and negotiating
  • Editing

The final film will be launched at an exclusive event, and you’ll get to be there with your team and the SBTV crew.

2. A written stand-out statement answering: If you could create a show or programme about music what would it be?

Please note that you can apply for more than one team – for example, the Marketing team and the Post-Production team. However, you will need to complete both application forms.

In the application form, you will be asked what your top preference is within the Post Production team. The team will be made up of:

  • Editor
  • Sound Design
  • Composer
  • Grade + Colouring

Further information

Dates: You will be required for 3 days between Mon 29th October 2018 – Fri 2nd November 2018 (exact days to be confirmed). One day will be based around a master class and two days will be working on the project.

Salary: London Living Wage and travel expenses
