O2 is a leading mobile provider. Over the last six years, we have extended our capability beyond traditional core mobility services to become a single consolidated provider for all IT and communications needs. We work with partners and customers to optimise voice and data networks and remove duplication, preparing customers to face new challenges, such as increasing the number of mobile workers and the move to virtualised services. We are a leading UK brand supplying fixed and mobile telecommunications, with the scale and resources to manage 25 million customers, 450 thousand business clients and 41,000 retail stores worldwide.

What will I be doing?

You will be learning about telecommunication fraud in a blue chip company’s fraud team. This will include spending time with our people, understanding our objectives targets and developing your knowledge in fraud investigations/strategy. Additionally, you will be dealing with fraud referral cases, speaking to victims of fraud (possibly, but maybe unlikely depending on duration of stay) and data input.

Why should someone apply for this opportunity?

A successful person will see how a fraud team, within a leading Telecommunications company and household name, operate. It will be an eye-opening experience and give them a good grounding in fraud prevention.

Who should apply?

Ideally 16-18 year olds, who have obtained a GCSE in Maths and English, between grades A-C.

The work experience will last 1-2 weeks and will take place between 30th October to December 2017 (Depending on your availability). You will be based at Telefonica UK Ltd, Arlington Business Centre, Millshaw Park Lane, Leeds, LS11 0NE, between 9am – 5pm.
