With the film industry booming it’s now more important than ever for women to have their say. Women are extremely underrepresented in film and so this event has been created to inspire up and coming female filmmakers encouraging them to break the glass ceiling, aspire to make their dreams come true and offering them the opportunity to discuss real challenges and get advise from top industry professionals!

Hostess with the Mostess: Deana Hassanein


Nathalie Pitters- Cinematographer: Nathalie Pitters is a London-based cinematographer and photographer who has worked in short fiction and documentary, fashion promos, art films, and music videos.

Akua Gyamfi- Film Critic & Founder of The British Blacklist: Akua Gyamfi has more than 20 years of experience in the entertainment industry, with a career that spans fashion, film, television, theatre, print and online media

Sheila Nortley- Screenwriter & Film Producer- Sheila Nortley is an internationally award-winning indie film producer and writer who produced the neo-noir short film The Hydra which scooped Best Film at the BFM awards at the British Film Institute in 2009.

Danielle Walters- Actress-  A regular in the popular children’s BBC 1 show “The Legend of Dick and Dom”. Danielle soon moved into the world of commercials staring in a Burger King advert, and shined in a role for the high rating medical drama on BBC1, “Casualty”.

Fiona Cross- Agent & Casting Director: Fiona been in the Film and TV industry for 13 years. She runs her own acting agency, she’s passionate about her work, and really wants to see a more inclusive and diverse representation of the world we live in on small and big screens.

Asia Muci- Film Sales Executive at Independent: Asia specialises in international film distribution and marketing. She worked on the international release of over thirty films including. She’s a guest lecturer on International Film Business and Emerging Distribution Models for the Digital Era at University of Westminster

Helen Jones- Founder of Silver Salt Films and former-Head of Acquisitions and Distribution at CinemaLive: Helen is a producer at (and co-founder of) Silver Salt Films, a feature film production company that creates films for a global audience with a focus on female filmmakers. Helen has also worked within International Post Production for five years at Columbia Pictures and at UK-Indian production company, Inspired Movies.
