If you’re not exactly buzzing about spending prime sunshine hours indoors making tea and doing the photocopies, look no further. Work Experience at Sky

Who are they?

Sky! The MASSIVE company that provides two of life’s greatest things: TV and the internet.

What is it?

Sky’s Customer Service is so good that they’ve won awards for it. To find out how it all works, you’ll spend five days at one of Sky’s offices, spending time in different departments including; Customer Services, Training Design, Sales, Process Improvement, Retail, Engineering and many more.

When’s it happening?

Stockport: 10th – 14th June 2017

Work Experience at Closer and Heat magazine

Who are they?

Closer magazine! The Weekly women’s mag that brings you showbiz goss and some of the best real life stories we’ve ever read. Heat! The creators of Weird Crush, duh!

What is it?

An editorial work experience placement working with Closer and Heat’s Editorial Assistant on tasks like research for the magazine, transcribing interviews, helping out the news team and searching for online stories. Basically, it’s a wannabe journo’s DREAM.

When’s it happening?

Placements are available through August.

Law

Reed Smith Insight Day

Who are they?

Reed Smith are a huge law firm with incredibly swanky offices. Like, maybe the best desk view you will EVER see. They represent companies from around the world, whether that’s huge corporates in the FTSE 100 or emerging businesses. They’ve got over 1,800 lawyers working for them in 26 offices throughout Europe, the Middle East, Asia and the United States. 

What is it? 

The Insight Day is a chance for any of you lot seriously considering applying for a job in law to see what working in a law firm is really like, and ask people who’ve been there, done that, all your burning questions. You’ll spend half a day at Reed Smith HQ in London. The agenda includes; an introduction to law from a partner at Reed Smith, a talk on media and corporate law from some of the firm’s current lawyers, a networking lunch with trainees and paralegals, a legal Q and A panel, and a talk on application and assessment day tips from the graduate recruitment team.

When’s it happening?

Friday 30th June

Who are they?

What is it?

Sky’s Marketing team are experts on everything Sky do. On this placement you’ll get to give marketing a go with the social media, research and planning or box sets and movies team. You’ll get an in-depth insight into your team and take away a specific set of skills.
